Our wonderful guide Vo Van Luat, picked me up early one morning to watch the insanity at the fish market as the boats come in and the sellers grab all the fish they can carry. What a great experience to see the hard working people of Vietnam embrace capitalism. The imagery was fantastic, and the people are so gracious and friendly.
I put together a video of the hectic and noisy scene at the fish market. It was a lot of fun to watch.
After the fish market, our guide Vo Van Luat took me on a leisurely Vespa ride back to our hotel. In Vietnam, this is a common mode of transport, and in the small town of Hoi An, it's low-key and safe.
We cannot thank Vo Van enough for all of his help and wonderful journeys in Hoi An. He was an excellent guide.
