I had a day off from touring in Hoi An and went into Da Nang for a round of golf at the BRG Da Nang golf course. The course was in great shape but it was about 95° and about 90% humidity so it was really hot and I was really sweaty. It didn't matter, I had a great time. It's a Greg Norman golf course really well laid out, mostly flat but some of the holes run along the ocean.
The thing that caught me off guard the most was that everybody has to have a caddy and that all of the caddies are women. They have to be under 25 years old. What more can I say, it was pretty fun. There was only one caddy that spoke English. All of the players there come from Korea, mostly women, so in my group of four everyone was speaking Korean, except for me and my wonderful little caddy. She was very helpful, I think all the Korean women were laughing at me most of the time, but everyone was smiling.
While I was off golfing, Tara, was in Hoi An at the famous seamstress Yaly Couture having some dresses made. She had a great experience getting clothes custom made at Yaly. The store is large, the downstairs is the fitting and selling floor and upstairs at least 50 seamtress are hard at working creating the items. Once you pick out the dress you want from the hundreds of designs available you pick out the fabric. Next you are measured for the item. You come back the next day and they have it sewn ready to try on and make adjustments. The next day is final try on, payment and shipping. Such a fun experience.
