One of the beautiful places that we came across after leaving Bar Harbor was the town of Jackson, New Hampshire. We looked at a map and we're trying to figure out how we should travel to Montréal. I saw the White Mountains National Forest and thought it would be a nice stop on the way. So I picked a little B&B and we settled in for a few days. What a wonderful little town. There was so much to do and so much to see we wish we had stayed longer.
Neither of us had ever been to New Hampshire and it was such a lovely
surprise. Mountainous terrain with many ski resorts and the most incredible waterfalls.
We also enjoyed getting to know some of the locals, great down to earth people who wanted to keep New Hampshire the way it is and were not interested at all in what was happening in the big cities of Boston and the like. I don't think they get many Californians in Jackson they were wary but quickly warmed up.
We also had a brush with greatness. We just missed Bernie Sanders at the local pub across the street from our hotel. His entourage was leaving as we were walking up to go get a drink.
