While exploring the stunning Ha Long Bay, we engaged in various small adventures. One of our stops was at a fish hatchery located in the bay, where we saw large fish that were commonly used as food on the boats in the area. Additionally, we dedicated a day to cycling around Cat Ba Island to reach Viet Hai town. We visited the biosphere reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and enjoyed a picturesque hike through the island's nature reserve. Another highlight was a delightful kayaking excursion among the towering islands, culminating in a peaceful beach lunch.
The Bike ride on Cat Ba is a must if you get out onto Ha Long Bay.
During our visit to Cat Ba island's national park, we had the opportunity to explore the Trung Trang cave, which served as a hiding place for numerous Viet Cong soldiers before they advanced to Saigon to expel the American armed forces from the city. The beautiful hike through the natural reserve park was lush and full of butterflies.
I would have to say that we had the most fun on our kayak trip through the amazing islands of Ha Long Bay. It was fun to spend some time with the other people on the boat and get to relax in the cool shade of a nearby beach.
Just another beautiful scene from our gorgeous boat, Ylang.
