Delos

While in Mykonos we chartered a small boat to go to the nearby island of Delos. The concierge at the beautiful Bohemians hotel took good care of us. There were 4 couples on this lovely sail boat. We spent about an hour getting to Delos. The island of Delos, near the centre of the Cyclades archipelago, is one of the most important mythological, historical, and archaeological sites in Greece. Walking the grounds and seeing these amazing artifacts that are thousands of years old puts your mind into the deep past of Greek history. There is so much to be learned from this island. The Greeks see it as the "exceptionally extensive and rich" archaeological site which "conveys the image of a great cosmopolitan Mediterranean port".

After we left Delos we sailed across to a small bay next to a different island that had crystal clear water and it seemed like it was meant just for us. Our crew put together a fabulous lunch with Greek salad, Greek beer, and an amazing paella. What a lovely day on the Aegean ocean near the beautiful Greek isles.
